  • all good thanks for the info i am also new to this, just trying to find out what boat is best for me thank for your time

  • But when the water gets rougher, this boat will continue to provide fun all day, while the hydroplane's will be sitting on the dock. I hope this insight helped, and I welcome feedback. Keep in mind, I am very new to this hobby.

  • It's simple physics, a heavier boat of this size (about 5.5' from bow to end of prop) is going to go a little slower. That's a tradeoff that you need to decide if you want. If you prefer all-out speed, a hydroplane with a dry pipe (mine is wet) will be a heck of a lot faster as you know.

  • If you want a boat that hits over 40MPH, I do not think this is the one. For me, I am willing to settle for the 36.5MPH speed as I love the boat, it pulls hard, has a tight turning radius, and is a very rugged hull that can take a pounding.

  • I believe that with the M5 mod (which I have), this boat is a solid 36.5MPH boat, measured when the fuel tank is low to further reduce weight, and about 1 1/2 turns out on the high speed needle for a safe tan plug (I really do not get much speed leaning it out anyway, perhaps and extra 0.5MPH).

  • The bottom line is I only once saw speeds above about 37MPH. I clocked 42.1-44.7MPH that day. It was windy but the water was calm and I was running downwind. I was able to replicate that speed several times (but only on that day) since a GPS can give you an erroneous speed when you are turning a lot. The engine was running leaner than I like it to be, tthe plug was very slightly tan- but sill too white for my comfort.

  • I have gotten many questions about the speed my boat can reach. As you can see from my YouTube videos, I run it often and have tried all sorts of tab adjustments and drive angles. I also tried multiple props, some quite expensive and some I worked on for hours and hours to sharpen.

  • so what did you do to make it go faster just wondering cause you got on your other vid top speed: 35-37mph. i saw your report on RC universe also, and other ppl say this boat will do 40-45 out of the box thanks.

  • Check out my other videos. There is another one on the boat...

  • We want some video!
