Story of events with music I composed and dedicate to the Heroes of Fukushima and the victims of the crisis. A year has passed, and on the anniversary of the Japan earthquake and Fukushima reactor crisis, the images weigh just as much as they did in 2011. Read more...

A tribute to Japan and a Tribute to the Fukushima 50 - the originally 50, then over 200 men and women who made a heroic sacrifice for the safety of their people, their country and beyond, potentially giving their own life.

Working in the midst of the developing 2011 Japan nuclear crisis, radiation and a reactor breach at the Dai-ichi plant following the destruction of the 9.0 magnitude Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, they are true heroes who most of us can only look up to.

As a music composer, the least I could do to thank them for their bravery, solemn attitude and showing the world what being a patriot truly means, was to write a piece of original music - a tribute to these great yet, at the time, unknown people, an electro-orchestral Hymn that expresses their heroism, the pain of Japan and celebrates the spirit of its people.

In 2011, many of you who liked the video and the music, ended up donating through their choice of charity organization to help the Japan survivors and the relief efforts. We ended up raising an estimated $10,000 through this video and the mp3 of the music, which was available for free through my website, for everyone who donated).

I understand the point of those who are for nuclear energy... however I'd like to know whether they would be ready to personally make the sacrifice that the Fukushima 50 made. Instead of pointing at others, they took action. My sincere "Thank you" to each and every one of them for that.

Let's take a moment and think about what could have happened without their work.

If you would like a copy of the music, just go to http://www.juliusdobos.com and let me know. I'll be glad to send you the mp3 for free.

  • Tears just came down my eyes. Humankind will never be able to express enough gratitude to these amazing people who were saving all of us. People involved in preventing the biggest catastrophe, I wish all the best in your lives.

  • Excellent tribute video to a terrible tragedy and 50 brave men of iron courage. Japan will prevail through this difficult time. From the United Kingdom.

  • I can never get over this video. It's amazing. Julius really did something extraordinary and special with this video. This deserves over a million views.

  • Great!

  • I have just realized that you uploaded this video only a few days into the crisis of the Fukushima reactors. You composed and produced an awesome piece of original music and edited a well thought-out video with the right statements, all this in a couple of days, and managed to present the Fukushima events in an artistic way from the beginning, while also generating donations. I'm impressed.
