This work is a response to Maya Deren's film, Meditation on Violence. A single martial artist performs (Wing Chun, Taiji, and improv contemporary) juxtaposed by images at split screen. The overall theme is based on Chinese philosophy, the five elements. This is when wood feeds fire and turns into ashes, which is earth that becomes metal and collects condensation to form water. The overall feel is contemplative.
