This tutorial will show how to make a crochet cap with bear ears. It will fit an approximate 14 inch head.

Written Instructions - http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2011/12/crochet-cap-with-bear-ears-small-in...

Materials
Size I/5.5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle

Chain 5, join
Round 1: CH 1, Work 10 HDC through the chain. We will be working the continual round.
Round 2: Work 1 SC, 1 HDC in the same stitch, Work 2 HDC in each stitch around. (20 HDC total)
Round 3: Work 1 HDC in the next stitch, work 2 HDC in the next stitch. (30 HDC total)
Round 4: Work 1 HDC in each of the next 2 stitches, work 2 HDC in the next stitch. (30 HDC total)
Round 5-12: Work 1 HDC in each stitch around.

Slip stitch in the next stitch or skip a stitch and slip stitch. You may have a slight raised bump from working the continual round. You can work a decorative edging to cover the final round. I recommend the reverse single crochet.

  • Hi Teresa! I noticed on round 2, on the written it says 1 HDC around, and you are doing 2 in each stitch (for 20). I just want to make sure I see and hear it right...Thanks!!

  • @Neecys93505 The video is always going to be right with 99% accuracy.

  • Your tutorials are too difficult for beginners. I am trying to learn how to make this hat too but I can't follow along with you because you don't explain where to we are to half double crochet. (especially in round three). So then I have to just watch the video but then I realize you cut your videos too so I can't even follow that. I'm sorry to criticize but it is really difficult for beginners to follow your instructions.

  • I love your tutorials!!!

  • Teresa! You ROCK!!!!! Thank you so much! What an honor!!!!!!

  • @1975ccoleman to make it for a larger head, either use a larger hook and follow her instructions or add afew more rounds of increases.

  • Teresa, if my childs head measures 18inch how do I adjust?? Help please

  • Thank you Teresa, sometimes it's easier for me with the written, because my computer is so slow!!
