  • whoever asked him NOT to explain questions already mentioned in camera manuals is a jerk. Not everyone who buys a camera reads manuals and even if they do, most beginners actually wudnt understand it when it comes to putting instructions into practice. This is where mark's videos comes in where you can save your 100 wasted shots on your new camera just by following his instructions.

I wonder if most the people know but every DSLR has a shutter life. It isnt going to work indefinitely

  • @stubones Lens diffraction came to mind right away for me also.

  • This was a begginer Episode!

  • @jjdbriones Yes, I agree, I cant even remember why I wrote that :) I usually use the cable release for slow shutter/long exposure, providing I dont forget it behind! I did have wind as a problem recently, but I was at the coast and the wind was gusting. I had to hold the tripod down, which helped immensely for the 20-30 second exposures :) Cheers

  • @stubones true... but wind is mostly not the factor for the image to be blurry when using kinda slow shutter... it is whenever you press the shutter release button... that's why mark said use cable release to avoid shaking...

  • @kaisar1 I think Mark answered this question quite nicely, but you're right. For example I don't have a DSLR, I have an 30 years old film-SLR camera, and lots of stuff are useful for that camera as well, plus: I don't even have a complex manual, just a "which button is which" manual from the net, which is not much. So yeah, I absolutely agree with you. We NEED basic tutorials as well. :)

  • Thank you for the videos Sir!

  • I gotta say, your videos have helped me more with my photography than anything else and not only that but you inspire me to be a better person through your acceptance of criticism and your caring manner toward people. I wish I could be more like you.

  • Love the bit about helping all skill levels. That other person is a jealous jerk. God knows 90% of people who buy a new dslr, rarely ever read the manual first hand.

  • hey mark i have a question i have one Nikon Sb-900 and Iam planning to buy another speed light y in your opinion what should i get the new Sb-910 or the new Nikon Sb-700 I'am planning to use it for my fill light

  • Hello Mark thanks for the good free tuition. One question i love to ask when shooting a group lets say at a party how can i get a group of 4 to 6 people all sharp even when they are not standing on the same focal plane.
