The main theme from Space Harrier 2, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive sequel to the original arcade hit. It was released in 1988 in Japan and then 1989 in the US by Sega (of course), With music by Tokuhiko Uwabo. He was not the one responsible for the original main theme, but still composed the scores to some of Sega's notable early games, such as the original Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd in the Miracle World, and the two Zillion games.

As stated earlier, this is the main theme for Space Harrier 2, and it plays during the normal parts of every stage, with the bosses having their own unique theme. This was the way it was with the orignal space harrier as well. I believe this is just as good as the original, with all the detail if not more. The game was also ported to the ZX Spectrum, but I am unable to comment on how the music fared.

First of all, Space Harrier II is meant to be a new game, not a port. It has new bosses and enemies, and while the scrolling effects certainly not as good as the arcade version, its still a pretty decent game. Also, its a console game, so it has a level select, which is nice.

You wanna talk about a dumbed down port, go take a look at the Master System version of the original space harrier.

  • @ssjin4vegeta download a mega drive emultator such as kega, then play the rom file and when in sound test mode, save the audio as a .wav file. Simple

  • I thought this track was called 'Harrier Saga'...

  • @123doomdoom

I know, I have the game myself :)

  • @figaro589 So is this

  • Although it is one of the first games released for the Genesis, it uses the PSG (along with the YM2612, of course).

  • @Zargon19

the master system one is good. sure, it's not anywhere near as smooth as the arcade one. but it's still a good game

  • I used to watch my dad play this game when I was a kid. It's one of the only games I remember him being good at.
