During the Slide Factory 2007 trombone festival in Rotterdam I had the honor to play Johan de Meij's composition for bass trombone and Wind Band, "Canticles".
Johan wrote the piece in memory of my father and for me. This was the premiere of the piece and for me it was a very emotional experrience. I played it with the Royal Marine Band of the Netherlands, the orchestra my father played in at the beginning of his career.
I hope you will enjoy these three short parts of the composition.
