Green vs. Greed: Poverty in a Perishing Planet is a student-led conference that explores the link between environmental destruction and poverty. Students will learn about issues such as the water crisis, how global warming has caused the spread of disease, and conflicts fueled by dwindling resources (namely oil). The conference aims to raise awareness and to empower youth to take action. Throughout the conference, 200 high school and CEGEP students from across Canada will be inspired by leading experts in sustainability, ecology and social justice. Speakers include Marc Kielburger, Elizabeth May, Ray Zahab (Founder of impossible2Possible), and Peter Corbyn (Co-founder of GreenNexxus).
