@mpgomatic I didn't know HYbrids battery are just like electric cars...so hybrids run on electric and use up the battery to gain the extra mileage? I just thought they had better technology, lighter frame and weight, etc. I don't want to have to worry about buying a new battery like an electric car for a hybrid!? I was wondering why the battery was placed in the middle of the car on the highlander. How does the prius work?

@RandomConcepts You are much better. You are just mindless. Forcing people to buy econoboxes is un-American. Love it or leave it. Fool.

39mpg for a hybrid? wtf. defies the purpose of a hybrid in the first place. My car gets way over that

@mpgomatic Do you have an updated version of this video for the 2011 model?

@joewillgo We haven't reviewed the 2011 Camry Hybrid. For comparison, you might want to check out our Ford Fusion Hybrid Review.

By the way if you would be smart and did some calculations you would know that payback time for Camry hybrid is 17.5 years compared to non hybrid Camry(with $3.50 gas price)...12y. with $5.00 (car will ned to be junked after 10 due to battery life)
That was just calculating extra price you pay vs gas savings...adding cost of ownership and battery life = same as owning H2
Currently all hybrids are waist of money...when you buy them new.

There are many variables, with yearly mileage and fuel prices having the most impact. It all depends on the specific situation.
The argument could be made that all cars are a waste of money if you buy them new, rather than buying a previously owned vehicle, after the big hit of depreciation.
Hybrids do not need to be junked after ten years. Battery replacement costs are headed downward.
