Score: Probably over 9.8. It had a 9.737 average with her 2nd vault.

Translation of commentary (from gymboy88):
-she chooses a vault of the second group, with a 10 SV, then she will perform two front flips.
- wow!! what a vault!, what a vault!
- incredible
- look how she holds her knees during the vault
- she almost sticks it
- and we all know that front vaults are very hard to land
- look at her face full of satisfaction

Current A-score: 7.1 (0.6 higher than any other vault being done by a woman, such a Cheng or Amanar vault) and 1.3 more than a DTY.

No other gymnast has successfully landed this vault. Only Choe Jong Sil of North Korea attempted it, at the 1980 Olympics, landing on her back. She clearly could not do the vault.

  • and this is when you fall in love with her!

  • amazing.

  • A gymnast attempted this at 2011 worlds in Tokyo in event finals but failed. Produnova was a different class..... Amazing gymnast

  • better than many men performing the vault

  • Choe Jong Sil attempted this in 1980...

  • you can't do that vault much better than that :)

ok, ok i hear lots of people screaming now in protest - she takes a tiny jump on the landing and she is quite cowboyed all the way thru the air - but seriously.

    That vault is HUGE!

  • @KMoney3187 I guess I can see why it would be harder, even though I don't tumble. thanks!

  • i know what her double front scored it was a 9.956

  • @ChainChomp2 Exactly! The Amanars are becoming DTY as were the 3/2 Yurchenkos and 1/1 Yurchenko. The twisting is too early and because of the fact that they do this and they're so used to Yurchenko twist vaults, even the most powerful US gymnast would only get probably 2 of the 2 1/2 rotations required for this vault. Choe Jong Sil did this vault the same Olympics (1980) the first man did it so I bet someone will do it eventually. It's probably almost impossible without cowboyed position.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 Especially with a lot of the rising juniors from countries like USA and Russia doing Amanars, it's starting to make the skill look overrated because after a while they're twisting more than they're lifting off the table and it's never really a display of power anymore. No one could really cheat this vault around (even with the cowboy) because it's already hard enough to cowboy it around judging from how the men perform it!
