Platinum Battle Tower 100 Streak - Battle 100

My Battle 647 video is much more interesting, but anyway... lol, I used to think 100 was a big deal. I've since surpassed 100 countless times during my subsequent Tower record attempts, culminating in my highest streak of 646 with a far superior team. The tower is not really a test of how good your team is; it's more a test of how long you can last before getting unlucky (haxed) enough for your perfect team strategy to fail. BrightPowder, Double Team, critical hits, random freezes and burns, Quick Claw activation, etc. Bad luck fills the tower. But after 15 months (started in Pearl last year, but my old team was noobish and the D/P tower was slightly more haxy) of trying it at random times of boredom, it's over.

I overcame the haxor CPUs - 100 of them.

My team was (the IVs are in the usual order of HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Speed):

Uxie @ Choice Scarf, Bold nature
EVs: 252 HP, 240 Defense, 16 Speed
IVs: 17/23/30/25/30/22
Ability: Levitate

Scizor (shiny) @ Iron Plate, Adamant nature
EVs: 248 HP, 252 Attack, 8 Speed
IVs: 31/25/21/13/23/24
Ability: Technician

Garchomp @ Focus Sash, Jolly nature
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP

Isn't it awesome that I defeated almost every trainer's Pokemans with a move of only 40 base power!? Bullet Punch is one of the best moves ever, when used by Scizor.

Without looking at Smogon's Battle Frontier Records thread, I never would have seen the team of some user called Calisto, whose idea I pretty much copied with the Uxie Trick-lead to set up Scizor. But I used Garchomp which was different to his team.

I'm kind of a Battle Tower noob, and I was just wondering, when does your Garchomp come into play?

@Ike686 Into Scarf-locked Electric moves, into Scarfed paralyzed status moves thanks to Substitute, into moves it resists (especially fire since Scizor can't take it). Also when Scizor dies, of course.

wow! nice job getting that far! I'm only at 44 right now :) Actually got there a couple minutes ago :P Would have gotten further if the computer didn't rely on luck... Get this, he's using a hipowdon, he's down to literally one hp, he uses ice fang, gets the freeze and then next turn uses fissure and hits... I wanted to find out how much of a chance there was that that could happen. With accuracy of both moves, chance of freeze and thawing out, there is around a 2.57% chance of that happening...

@DrDimentio I don't use shiny pokemon personally, and I'm pretty good at breeding pokemon as it is, bred myself an adamant natured tyranitar that knows dragondance and has 31 hp 31 atk 20 def 8 sp. atk 31 sp def 29 speed IVs, and the adamant natured garchomp with substitute I used has 31 hp 31 atk 31 spd (didn't check the other Iv's). My sister doesn't like tapping the happiness checker or flipping coins too much so she sorta gives up on that lol.

@srperc Well, that's awesome - but do you realise that you can combine the shiny RNG abuse with flawless IVs and nature on a hatched Pokemon just by doing a second part of RNG abuse? That's what I do.

@DrDimentio I looked up your channel searchin for that quick claw Rhydon, and I noticed your RNG abuse vid thingy... Using my sisters level 60 gold magikarp she found on Platinum after her 7th fishing rod try, we used the calc and got the SID and then she went on a breeding rng abusing frenzy to get a shiny charmander... to great success :P Ended up hasty nature with only above average stats but my sis is happy.
