I have no job, don't qualify for unemployment, no health care, no food stamps, and live off the kindness of my ex. who is 60. I am 57 yr. old woman, broke my arm and wrist dec. 08. keep going for jobs and interviews but, no takers. How many more woman or men in the same position as i, must be astronomical.

I am lucky I am not sick. I stay healthy with natural remedies, and so far for three yrs. so good.

its, april 2011, im watching , and listening. and still waiting. A mexican can come from mexico, have a baby , maybe like 7 babies actually. then go to DES (dept economic security) obtain WIC , food stamps , section 8 housing. etc. all legally through the system somehow. whle being here illegally. leaving no benifits for my duel citizen son with autism. im american , but when my son came from malay legally why cant we get benifits ???? arizona brn and raised please stop the invasion!!!

@swansongusa I'm not denying the current reality of what you see. But people with courage and integrity are usually made rather than born. There are certainly many in your position who think the same - that the others are unreliable so giving up is the most effective solution. However, even for survival, you're better off finding like minded individuals to cooperate and utilise your resources effectively, instead of jumping ship. BTW, I'm a foreigner living in Canada but I had to share that :)
