A properly fitted cart, well conditioned horse, and level footing go a long way in how much a horse can pull. Horses are actually better suited to pulling than riding (Even the full sized ones). He looks happy working and is probably fine :)

aww...aren't the two of you and the cart, etc. heavier than that little pony???? Isn't it proportionately kind of cruel to make him pull so much weight??
