I was born and raised in Dartford in the 1950s and 1960s. It was a great town with full employment. Now it is a hell hole and I am glad that I left years ago. So sad.

I must say that although dartfords town planning and architecture leaves something to be desired, the majority of people there still have good manners and respect for other people, it has one of the best kept parks I've ever seen a great theatre, lots of lively pubs it's a family town with a vibrant night life as a kid I used to travel to dartford to go to zens the only decent nightclub within 15 miles of thamesmead -which is the shit hole of the world a truely failed social experiment - be glad

every other shop is a kebab shop or other take away,sign of the times,i used to work for abba dart taxi,sand felt safe at night, these pictures are not how i remember it ,i have better ones in my memory,

i lived in horns cross and dartford was my nearest town, i worked there and drunk in the pubs there,i was a good town ,2 chip shops( russels) next to the kent curry house, and peacocks on east hill,1 chinesse (the sun do) the pubs i used were the watt tyler,the smiths ,the hufflers,the phyenix,coach and horses,the masons, late 70,s flicks opened,sunday dinner time 50p to get in ,great days,the last time i was down there( halls) where i worked had gone and now in its place is shops.
