  • Most excellent! Thanks, much. Although there are many Drupal videos, there is a real void in the theming /creative area, in which you excel. If there is a way to show support, kindly let us know...

  • @azalinsky Thanks - I'm glad you liked it. I really want to do more videos, and have lots of new material - but I have a few projects to get out the way first. I am thinking of starting up a drupal theming website full of tutorials in the future, and at that point donations might come in useful so that I can spend some decent time doing it - but for now peoples comments are the best way to show appreciation - it's really nice to hear that they are of some use to fellow drupalers.

  • Very helpful...but how did you theme the green buttons appearing in, e.g. your right sidebar panes?

  • @X4A2 The green buttons were just made in photoshop, and then exported as images. Then I inserted them with html into a 'custom content' area in panels. If you wanted to have a rollover, the imagemenu module could be used to create single item menus which could then also be inserted into panels layouts. Cheers, joe

  • This is one of the best tutorials for panels-beginners! Thanks, it was for me very usefull!

  • @misto1828 Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Please remember this is only one way to do it. It's a good dea to experiment and find the best way for you.

  • Thanks for sharing your knowledge. This is an awesome tutorial how to work with.

  • great series, but I wish you'd shown how exactly you did it, while you're doing it.. I'm still very confused on the content types and views :(

  • Excellent!!, Thank you for doing these they are very well presented and very helpful.

I have a similar question to "PaulBunkey", when you created the dashboard did you have to go and rebuild each one of those forms field by field again in a panel?, and for page in the editor did you have to add the menu on the right in each variant or is there a way to have it go to a region across all variants?

  • I've now watched through all five of these videos. Great job! I wanted to ask about where you mentioned that builders will slow a site down. I think you said that you can export the builders to be a custom layout...?

  • ...is all this relevant for drupal 7 ?

  • Very useful. Can you please make a video or refer to some existing tut about Editor's Dashboard creating? How do you get to point showed on 7:00 , where an editor have submenu with several "add new blah.." items ? Which kind of list this submenu is ? and which kind of page/panel/view it shows in content area ?

  • Thank you so much for being generous with your time in making these videos! You've saved many people a good deal of time and severe frustration with your contribution to the community. Well done! If you do create your own website, perhaps you could open it up to let some of us who are beginning to understand drupal make a few screencasts for those at the very beginning of their journey, saving you from a deluge of lower-level questions, and to prepare them for the tutorials that you make.

  • I'm a Drupal newbie and find the main Drupal site less than helpful in general! But I found the links to your panels videos there, and am so grateful! They are wonderful - make it so much more understandable from a web design pov! Thank you!

  • I had given up on learning Panels after lots of frustration. After watching your videos I am actually enjoying them and excited to learn more!
