Coming into this game, the Chicago Bulls were down 2-1 to the N.Y. Knickerbockers. Magic Johnson stated during the 92 playoffs/finals that it's very hard to even make it to the Finals, he said it's even harder to win in the Finals, and he said it's nearly impossible to repeat a championship. Well, the Bulls were working on their 3 peat here in the 1993 NBA playoffs. The big problem is they ran into a road block that I like to call the Terminator Knicks. The Knicks were a very physical team and were talented from top to bottom.

Michael Jordan really needed to step up big in game 4 but there was one problem. Michael Jordan had a badly injured wrist and a huge lump on his wrist from the injury. Many were questioning if Jordan would be able to shoot well with this injury he was dealing with.

Michael Jordan was soon to put on the Superman cape, as he had many times before, and he broke the NBA record for most points scored against the Knicks in the playoffs by dropping 54 points on them. Michael Jordan got into foul trouble, and when he picked up his 5th foul he sat out part of the 4th quarter. Jordan would have broke 60 if he didn't pick up that 5th foul.

Michael Jordan usually let the game come to him and took his shots in the flow of the team offense. In this game Jordan came out to prove a point. Earlier in the series Jordan and Starks got into a verbal fight and Jordan wanted to come to blows with Starks. The Jordan vs Starks rivalry was heated, they hated each other.

In this game Phil Jackson didn't need to do much coaching because Michael Jordan took the basketball and owned this game. He played his opponents like they were puppets. Mike was unstoppable.

Michael Jordan's sidekick, Scottie Pippen, shot 4-14 in this crucial game so clearly Jordan was a man alone on an island in this one and you are about to witness a performance as close to supernatural as it gets on the basketball court. Enjoy!

  • The defense being played on the perimeter in this game, under the rules of today, would result in a bout 10 consecutive fouls called LOL!!

  • Agreed, good to see you on here blackadam06, I hope all is well with you and I truly enjoy your opinions and analysis.

  • I'm still here..

It seems like I'm the MOST HATED YouTuber in the eyes of the "U-know-who" brigade, as evidence of what seems like a hundred private "I hate U" messages in my inbox from them LOL!!

  • Oh well, you just feed them facts that they didn't already know despite what they may think about it. When they accept that you are teaching them, and not attacking them, they will come to the understanding that you are just a very smart fan.

  • Great job Bruce!

lol If these were in HD they would be even more amazing

  • Yeah, well we didn't have true HD when Jordan played so that sucks. One thing is for sure, the coverage and camera angles of the game of basketball has come a long long way.

  • Starks got burned...

  • From 9:17 - 9:20... I just busted out laughing for some reason.

The Commentator: "He has 50" referring to his Airness of course...

...Meanwhile, the camera focuses of John Starks running back down the floor.

Truth be told, Mr. Starks was pretty guarding MJ the whole time. I mean I own a few things in this life I lead.... car... TV... some sneakers..., but I don't own any of those things like MJ owns John Starks.

  • I hated John Starks with such a passion

  • @actoman1 . hey! who had the most 50+pt in playof and is the record for 50+pt, kobe he had only one 50pt in his playoff career of his 12 years. and a guy better than mike with no scoring tittle and a chamionship do it on the same year how . kobe not even close

  • Jordan took a lot of jump shots but when you're hot from the perimeter then there's nothing a defense can do.

  • just look @ how hard the defense was! if this was today, these would be tech's all day long!

  • He had 45 pts but it was a 8 pt game after 3 qtrs. They did double team a few times but with the wrong guy it seemed since Ewing is the slowest guy on the team.

  • Great rivalry, great game, great video!

Does anyone know what John Starks' statline this game was?

  • in his face..........................

  • Starks is one of my favorite players ever, and this '90s Knicks squad remains my favorite team ever. And I have to say, Anthony Mason is one of the coolest, baddest cats to EVER play this game--and also one of the most underrated power-forwards of his time. People would try and fight Starks when they were mad, and they'd even go after Ewing. But you didn't see guys try and get into any altercations with Mase. Or Oak.

Jordan is great though and the Bulls were a heck of a good rival to have.
