Her, race? I remember a whole group of 'white Mormons' that lived no where around New Orleans, going into the worse areas to help clean up. Not for pay, not because of race, simply because they new there was a need and these people were their brothers and sisters, fellow children of God. But U.S citizens just the same; "A child born abroad to two U.S. citizen parents acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under section 301(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act". Mitt's grandparents were both citizens of the territory of Utah and were considered abroad for religious ministry. They returned to the US in 1912 because the Mormon colonies were put in danger when the Mexican revolution broke out.

How sad to see the recognition of racial inequity as "racist". There is nothing divisive about this speech. His main call is for the end of the war in Iraq and healing the inequities of our culture, THAT is the opposite of divisive. He is suggesting that our past wrongs can be healed by CARING about one another. By taking the bullet out, by cleaning the wounds, by letting the miracle of healing work it's magic.

Racism is when you can't allow that we are all the same under the skin.
