Hi, I'm the designer. As you say, the builder is Ryder Boats. I was unable to reply for some reason when you first posted your comment. thanks for your liking the design; the boat is great fun & very easy to sail (just turn the tiller to tack or jybe) and lets you explore places other boats can't go.

A great design. I checked out your site... I'm assuming you are the boat builder... at ryderboats dotcom. You ought to link these to your site... And best of luck with an excellent, modern revival of a proven, classic concept!

Hey man well done with the cruising world sailing awards. I jest not.

@Danboutade Thank you! I love the fact that the boat made the judges feel they had to come up with a new category. She's a sweet boat to sail and Presto!, hull #1 is leaving tomorow morning for Florida, towed by my partner in his F150.
We're planning on cruising in her in the Bahamas this Winter so I hope there'll be more and better videos to follow. Thanks for keeping an eye on her adventures.

More videos please. Any of these shipped to the west coast yet?

I'll post another video when I can rememer how to do it! Paul Cronin of White Cap Video shot some good sailing footage (with a 400 mm lens!) at the start of the Newport-Bermuda Race this year. I really hope the boats get to the West Coast. Tom Wylie was very helpful with advice on the setup of the wishbone rig.

Brilliant commentary. Pity this is so short. More please... Oh, and the boat looks great fun.

You jest about the brilliant comentary! but thanks! These are the first videos I took with a new Canon D10 underwater camera and I hope to take a lot more in the Bahamas this coming WInter, 2011. We share Presto! with friends and I must say we're quite struck by the way he sails, the way she covers ground for a 30 footer. We've had her at about 13 knots and I'm sure we'll get her to 16 one day in the right conditions. She's cvery well-behaved in those conditions.
