Ruby-throated hummingbirds competing for a seat on the feeder. This is in Louisiana shortly before the migration to Mexico when the hummingbird population is the highest.

The ones with the dark throats (ruby throats when the light hits them just right) are males and the ones with light throats are females.

  • wonerful wonerful....a'la Lawrence Welk.....I like the part wher one bird is standing on another to get a taste....lol....great videography too...

  • Everyone thinks that this is such a beautiful occurrence but obtaining food means life or death for these birds before migration. Welcome to the cruel reality of nature, youtubians.

  • how wonderful i LOVE these little birds so does my mom but we dont get that meny in Texas

  • @SparksMagoo LOL I hope you're kidding, these are real birds, they are called hummingbirds.

  • WOW ! Now they have remote controlled birds?

What kind and how many batteries do they use?

  • Madre mia que hermosura!!!!

  • they're too cute!

  • tiny beautiful angels that bring BIG joy! thanks for sharing!

  • @Buccaneerfan13 I saw a bunch of insulting comments on this thread, some of them profane, back and forth between "creationists" and "evolutionists," and made a facetious comment that they should stop and just enjoy the birds. Is that foolish? I also shared my understanding that the cosmological truth is somewhere in between. In some eastern traditions that would be considered the wise path. In the western context, I guess that's foolish, too.

I am content to be a wise fool.

    Cheers!

  • @Buccaneerfan13 That's great!
