Paul sings the beautiful song based on Frederic Chopin's Piano Etude no 10 in Melbourne. Tristesse is about struggling to live without a lost love.

  • "Tristesse" is about the love Chopin had for Poland. Yes it may apply to a lost love, indeed. To Chopin, Poland was the lost love as he lived in France. "Tristesse" or "sadness" in the English language was inspired in Chopin by his native country of Poland during the 1800's while Poland was a partitioned nation and wiped off the map of Europe. "Tristesse" pertains to the "sad" situation of Poland at the time.Chopin lived the first 20 years of his short life in Poland, it was his inspiration.

  • I was actually there by accident, and I was actually quite positively impressed. I never saw the talen show but did catch him in the news later. Wonderful guy.

  • this etude no. 10 in E minor, better known as tristesse, composed by Chopín is to me one of the 3 top melodies of all times, and when you hear it with such a wonderful tenor as Paul Potts, a mixture of electrifyng chills run through my spinal cgord; perfect performar, perfect song!!!! "20 out of 10 points"

  • ma guarda se questo coglione deve fare dischi....

  • "Tristesse" is one of Chopin's best compositions. I love Chopin. And a happy 200th anniversary of his birth in 1810.

  • Yeah, this song must be sung in sadder way, but as said, he's just started from a self-taught not long ago! He's more concentrade in learning to sing the song than feeling it still. But still a great start!

  • I like him. I think that the real opera singers spoil the song because they sing it too strongly and don't put enough melancholy in it.

  • It was awful when he began to sing : 2009 is a better year for him. He made great progress both with the art of singing and with the quality and technic of his voice. We must appreciate these great efforts.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
