Learn how to do intarsia (picture knitting) in the round with Planet Purl's video, taught by Beth Moriarty, author of "Deep South Knitting." Great for socks, hats, and sweaters knit in the round!

  • This video is AMAZING. I have never done intarsia before, worked flat or in the round, but after watching this video two times I think I can do it! If anyone has trouble remembering the steps, just watch this video one more time and jot them down in MS word, print. Here's hoping my first pattern works out well, and thank you so much!

  • @Archaeia Thanks for the compliment. Let me know how your project turns out?

  • I haven't knitted for over 20 years. And that includes knitting in the round. I am making this hat.And it is all in the round I rembered how to join the round. But it calls for stocing stitch the rest of the hat. I know how to stocking stitch but can't rember how to do it in the round. Help please.

  • @DebBrehmer I replied from my iphone but it didn't show up. Stocking stitch, or stockinette here in the US, is worked in the round by knitting every stitch.

  • I get it! I get it! i watched this the first time and my brain imploded. But now it makes sense, so thanks so much!! xx

  • @smnplmr No head implosions, please! :) Ruins the yarn.

  • this saved my hat

  • @planetpurl Although having said that, i ended up having the same problem as Shramir, there's a ridge running down the seam... experimented with keeping the wrap crossed, and also tried lifting completely over stitch it was wrapped around, and then something inbetween, but to no avail... in the end resorted to knitting flat and sewing up with an invisible seam! Any thoughts?

  • Brilliant.

  • @4022SavedNoSurvivors Oh, I specialize in stupidly easy! :) Glad to help.
