Besides having one of the best engineering programs in the nation, there's one huge thing that sets the UH Cullen College of Engineering apart from other engineering colleges around the nation: its location in the Energy Capital of the World. Houston is home to the 2nd most Fortune 500 Companies in the world and the fastest growing economy in the nation. The Cullen College of Engineering has leveraged its proximity to the top engineering, energy, space, medical, and technological companies by collaborating with local industry, government, and the community to conduct cutting-edge research, create new research centers and partnerships, and provide Cullen College students unique access to jobs, internships, fellowships, and other employment opportunities that most other universities around the country simply do not have access to. Nothing demonstrates this more vividly than our bi-annual Engineering Career Fairs.

Local and national companies come out in the hundreds to recruit engineering students on the University of Houston campus. Engineering students come dressed to the nines and fully-prepared for a future in industry. The UH Cullen College of Engineering Career Center makes sure of it, providing students with interview skills, advice on dress code, workshops with industry professionals, mock-interviews and private consultation on achieving career goals.
