Tribute Web site is http://www.rlhtribute.com I had the honor of knowing COL Howard (MOH) and the reason I made this video was because he was a great soldier and American who was never really given the recognition he earned and paid for with his own blood. COL Howard (MOH) was the most decorated soldier during Vietnam and some say in the history of our Military.

He served 54 months in Vietnam most of it with MACV-SOG and was wounded 14 times. He died on Dec 23, 2009 and was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery on Feb 22, 2010.

Honorable mention: SGM Ben Guerrero (long time friend) at 2:33. Theme song is from John Wayne's movie, THE ALAMO and performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

HISTORY OF MEDAL OF HONOR DOUBLE RECIPIENTS

With the Congressional Act of July 9, 1918 it was further clarified in September, then again in February, 1919, to stipulate that no person could receive more than ONE Medal of Honor. Previously there had been 19 DOUBLE AWARDS of the Medal, but hereafter, whole these were the provisions for second or consecutive awards of lesser medals to be made and noted with appropriate ribbon devices, no more than ONE Medal of Honor could be awarded.

  • He was also a great American who up until a few months before he became very ill him and his buddy SGM Littrell (MOH) returned from their 6th trip in 5 years to visit the troops....he cared about 'His Soldiers" more so then himself. "SUA SPONTE"

  • stevehislop, The COL could have been mistaken for a Bank Manager, however, when your a recipient of the Medal of Honor, you unknowingly accept the duties and responsibilities that are unwritten but they must be done. I had the distinct honor of being in the company of 13 MOH recipients at a ceremony in San Antonio, TX and they were all very calm and treated each other with respect...no rank was used it was all first names...nobody out ranked anyone of the 13 and that's the way it is..

  • @springer94 A great American & above all a great human being. When I had the privilage of meeting the late Col., we discussed the very nature of the politics surrounding DC at the time he received his MOH, & the effect this had on him, & like a true gentlemen he said, "You can't blame those ppl for the way they felt at the time. The folks back home weren't in a war, so they don't understand. It's only natural for folks to fear what they don't understand." His wisdom forever touched so many.

  • God bless him. There is no way to express our thanks to those who stand in harms way so that we don't have to. Shake the hand of any Service Man or Woman, wrap your arms around them and tell them how proud you are of them... tell them Thank You.

  • He is a true hero<3

  • a true HERO...

  • Man...4 Star General Peter Pace looks like an amateur beginner with his "few" Medals standing along side Col. Howard...thats so cool.

  • Outstanding tribute to Col. Bob Howard. He truly was one hell of a soldier, and the true definition and example of what an Army Ranger, and Special Forces soldier is supposed to be. HOOAH!!

    AIRBORNE! ALL THE WAY!

    RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
