euronews.net Francisco Muñoz Tierno is 89 years old. A few months ago he retired from his farm to live in the calm and quiet of a care home in Soria, a Spanish provincial capital to the north-east of Madrid. It is there that he became one of the first test drivers of a futuristic personal vehicle: a wheelchair powered by hydrogen fuel cell.

  • We are running out of cheap oil. That is why gas prices keep going up. Hydrogen is the future.

  • I agree with your view on hydrogen as a storage medium. However what I said is directed at the video. In today's world when our primary energy production is hydrocarbons, they waste more energy by converting energy in 2 steps (oil -> hydrogen -> work), while advertising they are saving the planet by using more energy. This is what green energy is at the moment.

  • We can build solar panels in those places where we cannot grow crops, such as desert or other sorts of infertile soil. Hydrogen will of course never be the source of our energy, that will have to be solar, wind or nuclear power, but hydrogen can serve as a way to store energy. Nuclear energy can't be utilised in a car unless you store the energy in a medium. Hydrogen is a pollution free and reasonable efficient method of storing energy.

  • How did they made the hydrogen?

WITH OIL LOL. You ever heard of hydrogen harvesting?

The sheer stupidity that is called green energy. Solar power = LOL might as well as plant crops. Nuclear power is the future.

    Stupid hippies.

  • Old technology we could already have fifty years ago or more but as always it all comes down to money ... big money I mean! The money that's called state TAXES! On every one liter of petrol we pay 50% of tax right now! Now we have wireless telecommunication infrastructure for taxation, so now we have green light for technology that is a hounded years old! BRAVO!
