About My Hobby
----------------------------------------------------/
I am a professional makeup artist from Calgary Alberta . My name is Denver William and the name of my company is Denver William Artistry
After spending many nights at a Local club called Twisted Element, and watching many a drag queen perform, I decided that I was going to try a few things of my own. I went shopping, bought a wig and some lipstick and eye shadow and proceeded on my way home.
That night, I dressed myself in full drag. It took me three hours to do my makeup and about an hour of pacing in front of a camera to actually do anything. I never looked to bad. But I needed lots of work. But lucky enough, there was this show on Saturday nights at Twisted Element that anyone could go to and perform at. So, had only gone out one night before the show, I went out. I picked something slow and simple, and something that I could not fuck up. It was a slow song from Shrek. This night, my illusion was born and her name is Misty Valley, or known formally as Mistyre Valley Paramount.
Since this date, I have met hundreds of drag queens and performed a hundred numbers. Everyone of which have given tons of advice and pointers, all of which I broke down and took back what I wanted to. I never once, during the following 2 and a half years, had someone do my makeup. And this is how I attribute to my Makeup Success.
Almost three years after starting drag, I can and choose to call myself a female impersonator or illusion. An illusionist if you will. I am still a queen but I have many different characters that I am working on. And I grow and fail all the time and that is how I learn.
This is my story about Drag and Makeup. So closely defined together.
