  • A nice book intro. I read both volumes last week and was inspired by Aleshia's colorful and challenging life. Her Hollywood years were a treat. I highly recommend these entertaining and poignant memoirs.

  • Now I know why ah'm a fan of yours...LOL Well done Gina!

  • Thank you for your comment to Gina's review, hmengland41. In answer to your question about the painting behind her, yes, it is Carmen MacRae. The artist is BRUNI, award winning portrait artist of jazz luminaries. In the early days Carmen was a dear friend so this, the last portrait sitting before her death, means a great deal to me. Bruni captured the essence of the Carmen I knew.

  • A wonderful and articulate book review... (That's a wonderful painting of my favourite jazz singer in the background -- the beautiful Carmen MacRae. Is it an original, and by whom?)

  • I think that you have become such good friends says much more than any words of praise. I love it.

  • Gina you are putting thing so as they should be, Aleshia is so proud of you because like her , you are living your true life, a successful lovely lady. What a beautiful tribute.

  • wow thats nice how the 2 of you became friends, I read her 1st book and enjoyed it very much. I met another very very well known transsexual author, I wont mention names, but she and i emailed and met, I came to find out she was a looney tunes lol, Aleshia seems so down to earth and so real.
