SURE Michio. College students are going to have internet contacts. Awesome- but unlikely. I remember being college-age and everyone I knew/know had trouble buying food.
I love this guy (he's my favorite scientist, and has my vote for Coolest-Scientist-Since-Einste
in ) but this book is just like Science of the Impossible- really awesome, POSSIBLE stuff- but stuff thats more likely to end up on a Cracked dot com list than in your house, ever. Think:Back 2 The Future- wheres YOUR flying car? -
This guy is my role model. I can listen to speak all day!

@09robinsona Good point but on the other side of that, there are many things we have yet to discover and many things we haven't begun research in and that will probably mean a lot of technologies we simply couldn't imagine now.

sciencism is coming

Exactly! Because communism and socialism provides for all. Like how everyone in the Soviet Union had their own home, a refrigerator stocked with food, and a vehicle with plenty of fuel in it. No one ever went hungry or was exploited. Can't say the same for those dirty capitalist pigs that built their earth-killing SUVs with the blood and tears of orphans and slave labor!

One of my goals in life is to meet Michio Kaku. He is my mentor for physics, science and the future!

Finished reading parallel worlds this morning just in time to start reading Physics of the future :) his books are absolute masterpieces.

what a brilliant mind!

I guess this video marks the intersection of Michio Kaku fans with Democracy Now fans, so there seems to be alot of socialists arguing about how absurd it is to invest in the future when we could be investing in the poor.
I like this guy. But his vision presupposes the solution of the capitalist problem. Capitalism, intellectual or not, will not enable even most people in the world to have cancer diagnosing toilet bowls; it hasn't even provide MOST ppl living in it with A toilet over centuries. 3rd world is our exported poverty; cheap labor. And its likely intellectual property will ensure even if the poor could afford the material cost of cancer detecting toilets, they wont afford the rights. Pirate toilets!
