Taize Promo

Taizé Prayer extends an invitation to all to experience prayer in a way not commonly practiced. It encourages participants to undergo a journey to their hearts where the God of silence rests and listen to that voice that calls them from within. Repeating meditative chants in the midst of a prayerful atmosphere facilitates this journey. Taizé invites people of all walks of faith to a prayer that is contemplative and communal, dynamic and reflective.

This video is a collection of photos from my personal experience of Taize prayer here in Los Angeles. The services depicted are part of the Loyola Marymount University CLC program. It is set to the song, "Come to Me", sung by Trevor Thomson from his "Before You" album.

@janeway529 They switched to the plain wooden cross after the cross in this video got stolen. However, they have since purchased a new one in the same Byzantine style as before. I will be there tonight playing flute again and will pay attention to which cross they use.

@eivega I was a student and sacristan there until I graduated last year. The Taize cross they use now is a bit different. It's just a plain cross. Thank you for posting this video. It definitely brings back memories. :)

@janeway529 Yes, these pictures are from Loyola Marymount University's Taize program in Huesman Chapel. I learned about Taize while I was a student there. These pictures date back to sometime before 2005, when I graduated. I still play flute for them occasionally. Good eye! ;)
