Our open mic videos (like this one) are pretty much the same story. The players were all strangers to Mark and I at the time of taping. Since then, we have gotten familiar with some of the musicians that you see here.
This whole open mic thing started with us in about 1987 when Tor brought Mark from Seattle to live in Minnesota. At first, Mark was trying to find musicians to form a working band. That proved difficult since we lived in the boondocks. For about 10 years he was in and out of bands, which also proved difficult because most of them were miles apart from us. That's when we decided to find area open mics. In hopes to find more localized musicians. We had to travel at least 20 miles (one way) each time to get to any open mics. We still travel at least 20 miles to find a jam. It's turned into an addiction! Going to places and filming jams off the cuff is a hard habit to break and one we'll probably never quit!
Mark is finally in a couple of working bands but is always open to other opportunities!
