Jason takes the Extra on her shakedown flight and the little Aeroworks flies like a champ. http://aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=336
Unlimited vertical, hands-off knife edge, slow and predictable stall, straight up lines and down lines, axial rolls and hard snaps.

I used an OS .75 AX with a 14 x 6 APC prop and this turns out to be a really good combination for this plane.

Read my build log here for more details on the setup. http://electricdan.wordpress.com/aeroworks-extra-260-build-log/

  • Dan, Will the .75 AX work on a Top Flite Contender 60? I just rcv'd my kit from Tower and still pondering on what ultimate engine and prop to install to make it a screaming eagle..... Any suggestions my friend? Thanks, KJ

  • @SouthernPrinceKenny I don't have any experience with the Contender, but the .75 has the same mounting dimensions as the O.S. .61.

  • @69ponyowner just know that if you ever want an IC option to glow, the DLE 20 and 30cc gas engines are good choices. Yes you can say over powered, but that's not always a bad thing! But, as to the weight penalty, I've converted two previous glow powered planes to 20cc gas and they came out weighing less or exactly the same. OS four strokes are heavy engines.

Good luck with the Aeroworks, best plane for the money.

  • @dbronst3790 the part about throttle management is true, but it's still overkill and adds a lot more weight than needed... I'm not saying the choice of 20cc is wrong, just not the way I am going, to each his own. This is my first AeroWorks plane, I am excited to see how it flies. I currently fly Hangar 9's Egde 540 with an MDS 148...

  • @bryanandrew369 You'll love it. Aerowork's makes great planes that stand up to a lot of use.

  • @bryanandrew369 A .95 2 stroke is more than enough for this plane.

  • @69ponyowner The 20cc is a good option if you don't want to use glow fuel. With throttle management you can fly as real as you want.

  • I just ordered the AeroWorks 60/90 Extra 300... I have a Saito .72 that I was looking at putting in it, personally I think a 20cc gas is WAY overkill for this aircraft. I am going to fly IMAC this year with it and I am trying to get it as close to "Real" flight as possible. I think the Saito .72 should get it very realistic flight...

  • wat do u thnk about a os 95 ax 2 stroke

  • @dbronst3790 thanks :) i just got my plane few days ago:)

  • @bryanandrew369 Yes. Hitec HS-645MG
