The invasions are for a purpose? Great!
They are for loot, suppression and enforcement of their belief!
Lot was converted for various reasons like jobs, land, and for a chance of suppressing others.

Current caste system is the derivative of the conflicts created by foreign rulers.
Foreign rulers for their survival pitted castes (professions) against each other.
In those conflicts we lost lot of their social, scientific & technological achievements.

Munusmriti is nothing to do with Muslim and British rule.
Question is "Why Muslim and British rulers did not eradicate it?" They ruled over over 1000 years.
Many Hindu kings can not implement Munusmriti.
Because many Hindu kings are not Kshatryas.
