yes, they did deserve it. A knife can kill you just as easy as a gun and......a mugging can frequently turn into a murder and or rape. When the mugging is happening the victim has no idea "what else" they may be planning to do beside just a mugging. In the USA if someone pulls a knife on a police officer shoot to kill is legally justifiable
