This is a new category. CATEGORY. And this will be successful... I bet as successful as the iPod in a few years.

I do own an iPod but I don't like the fact that it is so "controlled". I will not be buying the next update because of that.

I will definitely buy the Amazon pad coming out. and I am betting that it will be pose real competition to iPad. I do Like and will be keeping my latest version of iPod Touch. It is small, convenient and I like the facetime.

@JoshuaB1968 if u like moving and just going places, ipod touch, if u like to pay the extra300-600 bucks and want a huge screen and u cant really put anywhere, get the ipad,

.......(continued) You CAN remotely connect to a computer through apps like LOGMEIN. you Can load files onto the ipad and browse them in a "file system" and share them with apps like Air Sharing HD. You can connect the ipad to a mac and use it as a secondary/extended monitor through apps like iDisplay. so many of the things you (and i) want are actually possible. But dont get me wrong. i agree with you. The experience is still terribly restricted.

you do make good points, and i have to agree with you overall. The device is just to restricted. i want to be able to store/browse/make/downloads files on it and download programs onto it from the internet. You just cant do that normally, only work your way AROUND issues. BUT there are some things are wrong in this. As you know, the ipad will be getting iPhone OS 4 in the fall, which brings MULTITASKING.......(continued)

You do have some good points. Like you said that Flash can't be used on any of the Apple portable divices. Which annoys the HELL out of me by the way, because I have an iTouch and I absolutely hate not being able to use Flash on it's F-ING CRAZY! Aggghhhhh!

The iPad offers nothing new or unique. I can listen to music on an iPod, which is smaller and better. I can browse the Web and watch movies on-the-go on a laptop or at home on a TV. I can read books with books, which I prefer to e-books. I see the iPad, or another tablet, being big in classrooms because they can act as textbooks and what not, but I see no reason to buy one for personal use.
