SHAWNIGAN DISTRICT - Canada's tallest timber trestle has re-opened after a undergoing a 7-million dollar restoration.
The Kinsol Trestle in the Cowichan Valley is one of the major attractions along the Trans Canada Trail.
It is also an important part of Vancouver Island's history.
The trestle, which was built in 1920, is one of the longest trestles in the world.
And the last spike ceremony, 44 metres above the Koksilah River, marked the culmination of a long battle to save the historic structure from demolition.
