@FarQ24 Its the umpire's decision whether a batsman is out for a nick. If the umpire doesn't hear it, thats not the batsman's fault. Clarke didn't walk at Adelaide did he? His nick was a lot more obvious. Claiming a catch however, if the batsman doesn't notice it's a lie, is definitely cheating, as disputing a catch is the batsman's prerogative.
@FarQ24 No you can't - because this was quite slow, and it clearly bounced, and you can tell from the very first reaction he had that he knew it had bounced ...
what about Michael Clarke out end of the day 2nd test and he knew he hit it and was exposed by the referral to prove clearly he did and he had to apologise for not walking.
As for Hughes if England had appealed for it to be out and got away with it the Australians would be ramming it at them for being bloody cheats..it happened in 1997 when Nasser Hussein took an inconclusive catch in the slips which meant one of the aussies was dismissed
You would have to be a complete fuckwit to call hughes a cheat for this! He has no idea if he had caught it or not. And Ian Bell can suck it coz he quite obviously nicked one on 40 something and went on to make a hundred.
