Those animes are inappropriately overrated. Don't give me wrong I like all three of them. But something about Clannad makes it more understandable, and in my opinion, a better show.

@tomasusan I thought that too, but then showed it to a friend who hasn't seen Clannad and they agreed it does give an almost eerie feel of sadness. It's strange. But I agree, episode 18 may have something to do with it for me, because I think of all the other routes and the possibilities being lost. (It's worse when you're like me and have played each route on the Visual Novel of this and know what happens with each character.)
