Grammy Nominated JANA MASHONEE, 7 time winner of the Native American Music Awards, singer-songwriter, and actress to perform at the 11th American Indian Inaugural Ball "A Celebration of Many Nations - One People" on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA. The event is hosted by the American Indian Society (AIS) of Washington, D.C.

Jana Mashonee is a 7 time Native American Music Award Winner (NAMMYS) including Best Female Artist of the Year, Best Single of the Year, 2 time winner for Best Pop Recording of the Year, Best Record of the Year and Best Producer for "American Indian Christmas" and Best Music Video.

Jana has performed for Laura Bush in the White House during the First Lady's Luncheon and is also a previous Inaugural Ball performer for George W. Bush in 2000.

Jana Mashonee is the founder of the non-profit organization "Jana's Kid's" which awards Native students the only educational scholarship in the United States in all three categories; academic, artistic and athletic achievement.

Jana's Native Youth Motivational Presentation has become the most successful presentation of its kind in the country. Her unique blend of music, dance and motivational speaking is reaching young people everywhere.

Jana's powerful voice coupled with the sensibilities of pop, R&B, world and gospel music create a compelling new mix that seduces your ear and overwhelms your senses.

Jana Mashonee's upcoming album, New Moon Born, will be released in early 2009.

With her new album, New Moon Born, poised to burst onto the mainstream music scene, its no wonder Jana Mashonee is all smiles these days. The album represents a significant departure from her previous endeavors, taking on a decidedly more upbeat rhythm and blues flavor. The album is about rebirth and new beginnings; it reflects a phase in my life that has taken on a different shape and direction from anything Ive done before, she says. This music conveys my personal truths and beliefs. In addition to providing all the vocals and piano, Jana wrote and co-produced the album.
