Dave Matthews Band "Why I Am" (Old Dirt Hill Intro)

Well, I came up with this video shortly after the MSG show in order to show how the band may play these songs back to back. Sadly, I was only able to get this video up after the band played this during their concert in Charlottesville on 4/19, so this is now old news. But you guys would have been "wowed" if you heard this before the band actually performed it. :D

BTW, most of these clips come from either "Dave Matthews Band The Videos 1994-2000" or "The Gorge". Both are excellent DVD's, and I highly recommend checking them out in their entirety. The other clips are a compilation of TV spots from Carson Daily, Conan O' Brian, and tapers recordings of various live shows.

Just wondering: Did you get this idea from hearing them play the "Why I Am" riff to close "Old Dirt Hill" on the Live Trax Vol. 14 performance??

I'm guessing you did because the version of "Old Dirt HIll" you used for this video sounds like the LT 14 version.

Actually, I remember the riff from the D&T Radio City DVD. Dave was all excited at the end of ODH and stated, "That's the first time that Tim and I ended the song the same way". I'm assuming that this was the birth of the WIA riff.

The version of ODH, from this video, is from the Mile High Music Festival.

Definitely!!!  I had great seats at that show, and my girl and I had the time of our lives at that show....too bad she dumped me soon after. At least I got to go to a DMB show with one of my girlfriends, and she got to hear her Crash live. I'm sure I'll be able to listen to that show again sometime.....Tim tore it up that night!
