My Favorite Distro and Learning Linux

@R3qU3m such statement suggests that ubuntu is advantagous only for beginners. That is far from truth. Once the distro is installed, most of the things are similar. Ubuntu has great community, great support, ease of use, and if you are looking for a platform for a dedicated server, I strongly recommend ubuntu server.

I think it is sad that people new to Linux always are advised to start with something like Ubuntu or Fedora or derivatives. I really believe that someone that really wants to learn would much more enjoy and absolutely benefit more from starting with a distro like Gentoo or Slackware. If you just want to point and click stuff you don't want to use Linux.. really..

Linux= Bullshit but its free

Mac= Fucking Expensive but it has a glowing apple on the back of the monitor

Windows= Inexpensive and very flexible for pro's, many viruses for noobs who doesn't know how to clean

@rabcor if you don't like simple, WHY THE FUCK DO YOU USE WINDOWS? WINDOWS IS VERY SIMPLE and is nowhere near as customizable as linux. XP is dead throw that shit out.

imma start off with fedora kde... i don't like simple, never have and never will, thats why it was always windows over apple and windows xp over vista and 7, once i get the hang of fedora, i'll jump to gentoo, maybe making a stop at archlinux first. but i only use it on my laptop which i don't use for gaming, and in a vm, why i decided to use linux now after all these years... i have my own reasons but also because its exicting to try out a new os thats more flexible. and its really a challenge

@xboxmodder02 I am a die hard linux fan, but I see no reason in what you just said. Most importantly, I wouldn't want everybody to use linux. A few years ago linux was a hacker hobby, what has become of it now?(UI like gnome 3 considers its users to be too stupid just because of that.)
