The music is great, but this posting has one of the best collections of photos ever. We sometimes forget that this was not only a great period for music, the ad designers were absolutely superb -- really classy!

I notice a really noticeable shift in the band's style when it moved to Victor in 1929. One would have wondered whether there were any inkling of those changes in the Columbia recordings from 1928, but based on what I've heard here, no such signs. I wonder what prompted Reisman to bring his band's sound to a higher level so abruptly. Any insights, kids?

A roaring happy fox and fabulous period advertisements. Love the Fiat one at 2:44 where the car is used as a fig leaf.

A time of elegance. nice images.
I'm surprised that there's no vocal refrain
on this song. Leo Reisman songs ars
usually instrumental but with a vocal
part at the end.
Wonderful. Leo Reisman is one of my favorites. The slideshow is a parade of beautiful images. By the way, when I saw the title I though it was Jerome Kern's song that Reisman recorded also from "Sweet Adeline" show.

Hi, Sweeet Adeline's premiere was 3 years later, in 1929 and the song by Kern/Hammerstein was "Here Am I" (Not: Here I Am)
