These birds are feral to the UK. They were brought over during colonial times as pond ornaments for the wealthy. Some escaped, and are now living in certain areas of the UK. This pair had three goslings when I first saw them, unfortunately they are now down to just one. However, this one is now growing it's adult plumage and hopefully is big enough to survive into adulthood. The adult male has darker legs than the female, and a raspy quack. The adult female's quack is more rounded.
