StarJar58 - Thanks for the comment. I also raised the same question at the time, but the guy flying it built it from a design by others and was assured that the original did fly. The machine is in the toy hospital at present, maybe when and if it gets out, it will sport a big fin. Have a look at my video "The Chairman's Dendrocopos" that shows some serious research and development around vertical fins. You may also find it ammusing. As a club, we tend not to take ourselves too seriously.

Queenslandfederal.... Thanks for the comment. We clearly need more than we've got. At least we worked out which way the rotor should spin. As you may have guessed, we were at the very early stages of the science. Strange, but we have no problem (well not many problems) with flying fixed wing.
