Tunneling the English Channel (Le tunnel sous la manche ou Le cauchemar franco-anglais) is a silent fantasy short by the legendary film-magician Georges Melies.
This short, harder to find nowadays compared to the famous Trip to the Moon, tells a comical and magnificently visualized story of the creation of a railroad underneath the English Channel.
@Ebbywebby It's definitely not a feature of the original film. Presumably the first part only survived on a copy that didn't get preserved too well, whereas the second part comes from a better and coloured copy that only partially survived.

Why does the image change so radically at 7:18? Is this a feature of the original film or just a variable-quality upload?
