BMW 2800 CS 68' - First 10m after 16 years

First short drive to see if automatic transmission is still working. It was smoking for a first 10min because of oil we used to fill cilinders to help the rings to recover.

Those get being damaged by cold starts after such a long time! A professional repair of this parts cost average 1000€! Third change anytime before you start such an automobile its engine oil and cooling water. I heard a clattering camshaft caused by unsensitive preowners. They didnt tried to run the engine warm before the pushed it. That noisy camshaft could be a possible head damage. Good luck you tinkerbells ;)

Very intelligent ....... to accelerate so much the cold and dryed engine after such a long time! First the fuel injected E9 use a automatic warm-run-automatic what explains the increased idle speed. Second BEFORE you try to start any motor which has such a long time stayed off, change the fuel filters to prevent corrosion and contaminations being sucked into the blend defactor (Mengenteiler).
