On Thursday, December 18th, SEIU organized events at McDonald's locations around the country to speak directly with McDonald's employees about what it's like to work for a CEO who is paid 770 times what his workers earn...leaving working families with barely enough to afford the "Dollar Menu."
According to published reports, the fast food giant is organizing its store owners to oppose the Employee Free Choice Act. The Employee Free Choice Act gives workers the free choice to join unions so they can bargain for better wages, benefits, and retirement security.
It's time for McDonald's to give workers more of the wealth they help create, and it's up to us to tell them how to do so. Watch this clip filmed at the McDonald's at the Smithsonian (in the Air and Space Museum) in Washington, DC.
@officialstevencravis McDonald's must be told what country this is and they will get a wakeup call for its Anti-Americanism by forcing its stores to open on Holidays that everyone supports.

You know if you attempt to unionised McDonald's Employees a condition is that certain holidays must be guarantee as time off. Examples would be the following Labor Day 4th of July Memorial day Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

At a time when unemployment is approaching 10 percent, insourcing cheep labor from south of the border is unacceptable. We need more fines and convictions like the one in Reno. We must demand that businesses use the E-verify system to insure American workers will end up behind those counters. And if the employer cannot afford to do so, were better off without him.

In Reno, NV, a franchise was recently fined $1 million for knowingly hiring illegals at 10 of his McDonalds restaurants. The manager was sent to prison and around 30 people were deported back to central America.

Its the franchise owners that hire illegal aliens who are the problem, not the CEO. Most of the people you see behind those counters are foreign workers from south of the border, and quite often illegal aliens. Its the vast supply of third-world workers that keep the wages down. Meanwhile, you the taxpayer, are paying for their health care schooling and jails, while this greedy employer lines his pockets.

Somebody want to tell us about the CEO of GM and how many times the average worker's hourly pay HE makes? Or how about the president of the union? What a stupid premise to use in an effort to shock workers into joining a union.
