@DevastatorsPissed1 I bought some aspirin last year and i still havent used it. Your argument is invalid. Whats worse. People buying a gun legally, shave off its number, sell it for 2-3 times as much on the street to some criminal, or somebody buying an ounce of marijuana? Where do you think illegal guns come from? They dont just spawn up from nothing. There needs to be a law, so that people who bought a gun bring it in, just to show they havent sold it illegally.

@ssuuppeerrbbooyy In the context of your first comment your respons makes no sense. You imply that guns are only used in violent shooting and not for anything else. Most gun owners will never use there gun but anyone that buys drug WILL use them. The two are not comparable.

@DevastatorsPissed1 There is only one reason to have a gun. To shoot it. There is also only one reason to have a drug. To use it. You could argue both ways that you should only use guns and drugs when you need to, but its not like that with some people.

@mikebama49 its not about taking away guns. its about preventing people buying guns with fake ID (gun shows didnt used to do background checks), or people buying 15 pistols legally, shaving off numbers and selling them on the street for 3 times as much. where do you think criminals get the guns?

So let me understand. More legal guns -> less shootings. More legal drugs -> more drug users. How does that work?

I don't get why we don't have gun clubs in public schools anymore. When my father was in Jr. HS and HS in the late 60's and early 70's in Chatham NJ the schools had them and kids learned to respect guns as the tools they are and, not treat them as toys or some status piece like so many do today.

We don't "allow" Citizens to carry weapons. The right to self defense is a pre-existing natural right.

We *prevent* the government from infringing upon the Citizen's natural right to defend his family and property against aggression by any means he chooses.... Regardless of form, function, or performance metric.

IOW, there is no "2nd amendment right to keep & bear arms." The 2nd amendment is a restriction on the fedgov's tendency to infringe upon that pre-existing right.
