It should be mandatory...It was in the olympics unless you met a certain age cutoff

When you have all of the protective equipment available to you, as we do nowadays, and you have the studies and experience displaying the permanent injuries which can result when you don't use such equipment, then what excuse is there to go without it?

visors should be mandatory every got high sticked by a dirty player, the stick could even take out an eye look at bryan berrard with the toronto maple leafs. id rather be called a pussy than loose an eye for nothing. no shield equals stitches in the face black eye, for what blocking a shot. or in this case a missed slapshot off ur teammates stick. i dun care who you are hockey visor are a good thing.

it's not exactly easy to dodge pucks moving in excess of 50 mph especially when you can't always calculate the trajectory of a moving puck behind other skaters and certainly not when things are deflected like the puck that hit d'agostini.
if it's a rookie mistake then it'll be a rookie mistake every time it happens no matter who it happens to. i'm pretty sure if you got hit by the puck in the face, you'd say you had very little chance at avoiding it.

you wouldn't say that if a puck took out your eye
