Star Ocean Blue Sphere - Introduction

Seeing the lack of SOBS videos here, I decided to record myself playing through the intro and the first few minutes of the game, with combat and exploration. I used Precis, Ashton, and Noel as my party.

Some of the colors are off due to compression, and I don't know why there's a sound delay halfway through, but as you can see, tri-Ace really did their work here. The graphics are pretty high quality for the Gameboy Color, and the battle system is semi-realtime (unlike ToP: Narikiri Dungeon).

Hey, is this the first Star Ocean made? If it is, then the timeline is all wonky... This one obviously comes after SO:SS based on the characters, SO:TET comes after all of them... And SO:4 is probably before them all, due to the 'first Warp drive' being invented...

No, the first Star Ocean was for the SNES. This is technically the 3rd game made in the series. The current timeline is:

SD 0010 - SO4

SD 0046 - SO1 (Past)

SD 0346 - SO1 (Present)

SD 0366 - SO2

SD 0368 - SOBS

SD 0772 - SO3

They need to PSP-Remake this, to make a SO trilogy on the PSP..and make a third console based game..

Seriously though, I hope we see a trilogy of Star Ocean games released for the PSP2...or just release Second Story as a PSone Classic on PSN so we can play it since Square's not ever going to digitize the UMD of Second Evolution for PSN...

actually I would've prefer if the game was remaked on the DS because of the interactive gameplay (especially with Item Creation) the way you create items looks like a fun feature to use for the stylus.

this game has been remade for ipod touch and iphone, check the squares website not positive, but I'm sure its for mobile phones now. :)
