From Schwarzenau railway junction in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), two branch lines lead to Waidhofen and Martinsberg-Gutenbrunn. Both are going to loose their passenger traffic in December 2010 due to a refusal of the state government to subsidise them any longer.
The video shows class ÖBB 5047 DMUs between Waidhofen and Zwettl on a pleasant, but windy autumn day (5 Nov 2010) beside a few freight trains, hauled by 2143 and Eurorunner 2016 diesels as well as a class 1044 down the main line Franz Josefs-Bahn to Vienna.
Apologies for the wind sounds in the 2nd part of the film.
