The song is by a local trio
I went to France last spring. Left Newfoundland's Burin Peninsula by boat and in less than an hour we landed at the main dock of Saint Pierre.
SPM uses the Euro but accepts Canadian or US currency. The restaurants don't open until well into the evening, the drivers are crazy and they speak "Parisian French" which is a joy to hear on this side of the Atlantic. And the time is a further 1/2 hour ahead of Newfoundland time making it a full 2 hours ahead of New York and the Eastern Time zone.
The islands are the last holdings of France in North America.

Great video! Loved reading what you had to say too =) I have a question: is the culture in this island truly French or has it been North Americanized?

@FashionAplenty Sorry for the delay in responding - I'd have to say it is definitely a little piece of France. The accent, the lifestyle - very French. But I did see a Chicago Black Hawks flag on a car.....
